Julien Faubert and Bobby Zamora took part in a specially-arranged
friendly against Queens Park Rangers on Monday as the Hammers' injury list shortens.
With Wales captain Craig Bellamy, who has pulled out of his country's fixture with Norway
this week, also building up his fitness following a substitute appearance at Wigan Athletic on Saturday, Curbishley will soon
have a much larger squad to select from.
French winger Faubert has been out with a calf strain picked up in his January comeback from
a six-month lay-off while Zamora has not figured since 28th August because of a knee injury.
Curbishley said: "I just want Bellamy and Faubert to get through this week and if Zamora can
also do that, then he'll be that little bit nearer too."
Bellamy, who returned from a three-month absence at the JJB Stadium, Faubert and Zamora would
certainly increase the West Ham firepower in their bid for a European-qualification place.
"I am hoping some fresh legs, some fresh minds will come back into the squad for the long
run-in," Curbishley told the club's official website. "Some of the players have been playing week in, week out without a break."
Matthew etherington took a knock to the foot in the 1-0 defeat by Wigan but it is not believed
to be serious.
"That is our fourth defeat in 17 games, so we have had a very consistent run, but for us to
push into the top six we have got to pick some wins up," added Curbishley. "We have got to get some results in these next
couple of games if we are to have a chance of doing that."
